Counting Down

Christmas seems to be approaching at an accelerated pace this year...I have not finished my cards so today I will skip the Gym and stay home to finish my cards. It's a great day to do this, it's cloudy and drizzly, a perfect day to sip tea and write notes and to those I love.

I purged my camera of pictures yesterday so I have a few to upload today. Hannah tried a hockey clinic on Monday night adorned in all her borrowed gear (I bought a mouth guard, socks, under shirt, and under pants...$150, yikes) She had a small adjustment to make to hockey skates from figure skates. Figure skates have a 3 inch heel so she felt like she was leaning backwards in the hockey skates...and no toe pick, probably a good thing so she didn't do a face plant on the ice. She had a blast! I've never seen my gurly girl so sweaty! She let me know she loves the sport, is ready to commit and I can go ahead and buy her gear. Oh boy.

Today

I am having the best afternoon with Miss Hannah. We went to get her spacers put on so she can start orthodontic treatment next week. We are cooking, making bad otter jokes, and having a dance off. I win for moves, she wins for cuteness. I love my girl.

Chargers Charge On!

I'm sitting here stuck in traffic while darkness is erasing the last bit of light beyond the naked trees of Kentucky so I have decided to post some pictures of this weekend's hockey tournament. It was a great weekend for the Southern boys, they won all their games clinching the Tournament.

One of the moms suggested we wear the black jersey of our player. (We all new if they lost, it would be the last time we parents would be putting out pride on our back. We won and a new tradition is born. )

Score!!!

Hannah has decided to play hockey. I've been begging, stealing, and borrowing gear for her.Okay, not stealing...purchasing. I think she's just about ready to hit the ice.

In the meantime, we bumped into Lindsay Fry, Olympic Silver Medalist for Women's Hockey. It put the punctuation mark on Hannah's pursuit of hockey.

It is Done

The Big Day has finally arrived and it is done. Graduation Day for Roo...there were a few hiccups like not actually see her get her diploma because of people going up and down the aisle...and Lauren took a good spill on some slippery concrete. Nurse Hannah took care of the scraped knees. I love my girls.

I think Lauren is asleep, a well deserved rest.

Hannah's Incident

On Friday, November 15, I received a text from Hannah she was receiving texts that were making her uncomfortable. I told her to send me the numbers and I would take care of it. I was just going to text and say "Leave my daughter alone." But...something made me call...imagine my surprise when a grown man answered and not a teenage boy. Things got ugly after that and I filed a police report. My fear is this man is a predator and he will just move on to the next girl who might not tell her parent or worse, might be desperate for attention, any attention...

Here it is, December 10, a month later...and I have yet to receive an update on my report. My calls are not being returned and I am stuck between being respectful of their time and cases...and this guy falling through the crack and getting his hands on another young girl. What is the fine line between Crazy Parent and Responsible Citizen?

How to spend a rainy Day

Rain, rain, and more rain...I don't have the skills to build an ark so after my allergist appointment, a few errands, a ton of ironing (I may have procrastinated just a tad too long on this chore), I made a cuppa tea and popped in my favorite North and South. Nothing better than a rainy afternoon in the company of Richard Armitage.
