Happy Halloween

I am in desperate need of a nap but I wanted to post these pictures of Hannah on her way to school today. I hope to catch up on the blog later this weekend while the boys (and Roo)
are off on a Travel Hockey Weekend in Duluth, GA.

Say "Cheese"

The 2014-15 Squirt Travel Hockey Team. Greg didn't order pictures so I swiped this off a friend's posting on Facebook. I will be calling the Photographer on Monday to see if it is too late to get my own picture.

Honor Choir

I received this email today from Matthew's Choir Teacher:

Here is a picture of the Heritage and West Madison 5th grade Honor Chorus members that performed last Friday at Samford University. They were part of the Alabama Music Educators Association state-wide chorus festival. They rehearsed music with me and by themselves over the summer and the beginning of this school year. Then went down for a full day of rehearsals with 200 other chorus members and their guest conductor Ken Berg, who is out of this world awesome! The performance was spot-on, magnificent! Seriously, the concert was beautiful and the experience was unforgettable!

Too Funny

A few months ago, our pastor showed two churches battling it out on their signs whether dogs go to heaven. I posted the link on my FB page and one of my brother's friends manipulated the pictures to look like this. (It was Kris Cox, in case you're wondering, Mom) I m still laughing. I'll put the link for the original in here later so check back.

Fall Break

We had a quiet Fall Break. The kids took some skating lessons and we visited the PumpkinPatch yesterday. Time is going so fast. It seems like yesterday when they were toddling around picking their pumpkin, now
they are helping me pick up the heavy ones.

Saturday

We drove to Atlanta last night through a huge thunderstorm. M has 4 games this weekend in Alpharetta. I got a couple pretty pictures of the TN River before the booming deluge.

Sundays with Family

My kids love to watch the Food Network and make all their favorites. Sundays are awesome, Lauren takes over the kitchen, I watch for the most part. I was afraid this Sunday afternoon activity would end with our little bitty kitchen apartment, but nope, it still happens and is just as good. It's a bit challenging but it works...we will see how this works on Thanksgiving...I'm still trying to figure out where to put the tree for Christmas so this might make celebrating this holiday a bit more of an adventure. I am hoping we will be in our new house by Easter (it just got shingles so I know Christmas is out and we will still be in the apartment a bit past the New Year).

I don't have a big dream in life, just Sunday dinner with the family and filling up a pew at Church. I am living my dream. How many people can say that?

Class Field Trip

This was a busy week for us. Miss Hannah went to Dauphin Island down by Mobile on a field trip, I never had field trips like that when I went to school.  I don't have any pictures of her in the marshes, mud, boat trip, or dissecting a squid...I do have this one...just about to get on the bus for her big adventure. She had a blast, I missed her, and I am glad she is home. I missed her.

Friday in Birmingham

My phone is great for recording life but our old reliable computer refuses to let me upload anything over 59 seconds, so here are bits and pieces of Friday's Rehearsal and Concert from the Alabama Music Educator's Association at Samford University.  I really enjoyed watching the Director Matthew's Group had. He was so good with the kids. He also directs the Birmingham Boys' Choir. I would love for Matthew to be able to do this, but it is just too far away. I actually thought, I can drive him down here once a week for Rehearsals...then we were driving home at 9:00 p.m. and I saw a sign that said we had 77 more miles to go to get home...I realized, I am just too old to do those kinds of drives any longer. If it had been 20 years ago, piece of cake...but this Grandma aged mother (or as the nurses called me when I had Hannah, "Geriatric Mom," ouch) of a 10 year old boy...just doesn't have the energy...

State Honor Choir

Today we are I'm Birmingham at Stamford University. Matthew is rehearsing with other students from across the State for a concert tonight. The Director is really good with children. They are going to be fantastic tonight.
