Rocket City Blast Tournament

The Team placed 2nd this past weekend and our wonderfully talented hockey dad took some great shots (Get it? Shots?) of our little hockey beast. He is still wearing the borrowed white #30 jersey. It will be nice when we get our permanent team jerseys.

It Takes a Village

Y'all know how I steal from social media? Now I have people giving me stuff...it's wonderful...one dad this year comes to the game with his Go Pro and another with his big heavy camera...this hockey travel season will be well documented (I hope, sometimes the newness of the toys wears off). So far, we are off to a great start.

In these pics and video, M is wearing the white #30 jersey (our travel jerseys have not arrived yet so we are using borrowed jerseys). The pictures are from our weekend in Nashville and the videos are from our games this weekend at home.

Matthew had a goal from a blue line slap shot and an assist (he actually had a few over the weekend), these are the little clips our Go Pro Dad emailed last night...and the pics I stole from the team website (notice a theme here?)

Busy Weekend

And.....We are off! The crazy of all things Fall has begun...the Girls and I attended a Church Conference and the Boys went to Matthew's hockey tournament.

We had a blast getting pampered and soaking up wisdom to use for all of life's circumstances...eating ourselves into a sugar coma, dancing the night away, and watching a spectacular firework display.

Matthew's team placed second in the tournament so overall, it was a very good weekend.

Social Media Princess

One of the things I do like about social media is the ability to screenshot little goofy things my kids post/send...H is the master of selfies. She is sheer royalty when it comes to brightening my day...the girl can rock a snap chat pic.

And Roo isn't bad at it social media selfies either

AND Here are the pics!

This is what happens when you write a post that won't load your pictures. You outsmart it and make a new post. See post below for the story.

Saturday in the Park

And we're off..at 6 a.m., the Clan was out the door and headed to Nashville. Hockey in the big city.  The Rink is next to Centennial Park or as my children would say..."Where Percy Jackson was filmed." It was rainy so no crossing the street to check out the Wine and Food Festival taking place in the park...but we did check out Ropier's Restaurant, known for its burgers and established in 1945. Yummy. I need to go walk ten miles now to burn off the burger, homemade potato chips, and the strawberry shake I shared with Roo.

And the pics don't want to load. I'll be back and try to put them on later.

Today

One of my favorite things in life is the hug and kiss I get from my children before school. As they go out to take on the world, I get a kiss and yell things like "Be a blessing to your friends and teachers! Be a leader not a follower! Be the head and not the tail!"

It is true that mamas have a special place in their hearts for their little boy. I loved to hug and rest my chin on the top of Matthew's head. Today, as Matthew was dashing out the door, I realized I was looking up as I kissed him goodbye. My little boy is growing into a man. I want to savor this moment today...as he passes from little boy to the man God created him to be.

Color Run 2016

Success! 3 of 5 Bices have now completed their first Color Run. We are going to make this an annual event! The women I work out with did this last year and I joined them this year. The kids and I had a blast. Hannah's friend, Ann, joined us for the event also...Our group, The Madison City Slackers, lived up to their name...especially Hannah and Ann. I needed a leash to pull them along...and that was just to walk. They were exhausted after a long week of Spirit Week at School and their big rivalry game last night. Matthew ran and beat all of us...he's a bit competitive.

Pics of the Color Run and Spirit Week Pics I stole off Social Media :-)

Hannah was told she is a bad southerner or she needed to move or something like that...I asked her why...this was her response...what can I say? She is her mother's daughter
